The Elks Tradition
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has a tradition of community service and giving. Becoming an Elk is the first step in becoming a member of the Jeffersonville Elks Country Club
The elks mission is rooted in history ...
The Elks was a social organization founded in New York by an English actor in 1867. When one of its members died shortly before Christmas he left his wife and children destitute. Out of this tragedy the need to serve the less fortunate was born. On February 16, 1868 the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge #1 was founded. Through the years local lodges were open all over the United States.
Jeffersonville Elks Lodge #362
